Project Overview
Zenith was appointed to deliver a full resin coating and line marking package within a newly constructed multi-storey car park. The environment needed to meet strict safety and accessibility standards while providing durability for high-traffic use.
Challenges & Requirements
Zenith was appointed to deliver a full resin coating and line marking package within a newly constructed multi-storey car park. The client required clearly defined pedestrian routes, directional markings, parking bays, and crossing points to support safe and efficient use of the facility. The environment needed to meet strict safety and accessibility standards while providing durability for high-traffic use.
• Creation of pedestrian walkways and safety zones
• Traffic management markings including directional arrows and crossing points
• Defined parking bays for over 300 vehicles
• A slip-resistant finish to protect users in all weather conditions
• UV-stable coating for the exposed top deck
• The need for colour-coded finishes across three levels
• Work to be planned around variable weather conditions
Our Solution
To ensure long-term performance, the Zenith team prepared the entire 1,800m² surface using fully enclosed shotblasting to create an optimal mechanical key for the resin coating system.
The coating system included:
• KDR Epocoat High Build resin to provide a hard- wearing surface finish
• Polyflex HB to enhance slip resistance and durability
• UV-stable top deck system to prevent fading and surface damage
Each level received a distinct colour scheme, helping users navigate the structure with ease. Pedestrian walkways and crossing points were clearly marked, and all parking bays were measured and set out with precision, maintaining smooth traffic flow throughout the site.
Outcome
Despite challenging weather conditions, the project was completed within the planned three-week programme thanks to careful phase planning and coordination. The finished installation delivers:
• Enhanced pedestrian and driver safety
• Improved traffic navigation and user experience
• A durable, professional finish suitable for high-use environments
The client was delighted with the quality and efficiency of the works, and the car park is now fully operational with an attractive, compliant, and robust flooring system.
