Client Requirements

A leading national supermarket approached Zenith to refurbish the M.O.T. bays within one of their busy regional distribution centres. The existing flooring had deteriorated over time, and the client required a hard-wearing, easy-to-clean, and visually striking solution that would improve safety and durability within this critical maintenance area.

Our Solution

The project began with thorough mechanical preparation of the floor surface, using diamond grinding equipment to remove previous coatings and deliver a lightly textured profile suitable for strong bonding of the new resin systems

Localised damage to the substrate was addressed using Polyscreed resin mortar, trowelled to match the surrounding floor profile, ensuring a seamless repair prior to coating.

Once the floor was prepared, the Zenith team applied KDR Epocoat high build epoxy resin to provide a smooth, chemical-resistant finish capable of withstanding daily use and cleaning routines.

Adjacent to the inspection pits, high-visibility yellow and black chevron markings were carefully laid out and applied, boosting site safety and helping guide vehicle positioning during inspections. Additionally, 100mm high coving was installed to changing room walls using Polyscreed Coving Grade, improving hygiene and making daily cleaning far more efficient.

Outcome

The project was delivered on time over an 18-day programme, with minimal disruption to the wider operations of the distribution centre. The results were a significant improvement to both aesthetics and functionality. The clean, seamless finish, combined with enhanced safety features and improved housekeeping, was extremely well received by the client.
