Client Requirements

A leading Midlands-based logistics company required a change of use within one of its industrial warehouse units. As part of the refurbishment works, over 800 sq m of existing flooring required repair and treatment to provide a durable, seamless, and chemically resistant finish suitable for the operational demands of the facility.

The client required a flooring solution capable of withstanding heavy industrial use while ensuring the project could be completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to the wider refurbishment programme.

Overview of Works

Following a detailed site survey, Zenith specified a high-build epoxy resin coating system to deliver the required durability and long-term performance.

The existing floor surface was mechanically prepared using totally enclosed shot blasting to remove old coatings and contaminants, leaving a clean and suitably textured substrate to ensure optimum adhesion.

Several areas of the floor were identified as requiring repair prior to coating application. These repairs were completed using epoxy resin mortar, carefully trowelled to match the surrounding floor profiles and create a level, consistent surface.

Once repairs had fully cured, the RS EP Coat HB high-build epoxy resin coating system was applied across the warehouse floor area. The completed system provided a seamless, hard-wearing and chemically resistant finish suitable for the client’s operational requirements.

Careful planning and close coordination with other trades ensured the project was completed safely, on programme, and within budget.

Outcome

The completed installation delivered a durable and professional warehouse flooring solution capable of supporting the day-to-day operational demands of the logistics facility.

The new resin coating significantly improved the appearance, durability, and chemical resistance of the floor while providing a seamless finish that is easy to maintain and suited to industrial use.
