Electrostatic Dissipative (ESD) Flooring Installation for Central London Hotel
- Client: Central London Hotel
- Project: ESD Resin Flooring to Plant Room
- Project Value: £4,200
- Products: KDR Epoflow ESD & Epoprime ESD Anti-Static Primer
- Area Coverage: 14m²
- Commencement: May 2025
- Project Duration: 1 Weekend
Client Requirements
A prominent hotel in Central London required an anti-static floor installation within a compact plant room to meet operational safety standards and protect sensitive electrical equipment.
The project called for a specialist Electrostatic Dissipative (ESD) flooring system that could be installed efficiently with minimal disruption to hotel operations.
Our Solution
Although the floor area was only 14m² and access was limited, Zenith brought their expertise in specialist coatings to deliver the project swiftly and effectively.
Preparation was carried out using handheld diamond grinding equipment under vacuum extraction to maintain cleanliness. A copper tape conductive grid was installed and connected to an earthing point, forming the base of the ESD system.
The floor was primed with Epoprime ESD anti-static primer, followed by the application of KDR Epoflow ESD, a self-smoothing resin system laid at a nominal 3mm thickness by trowel.
To ensure compliance, electrical resistance testing was conducted upon completion, confirming that the system met required specifications for electrostatic protection.
Outcome
Completed in just one weekend, the project delivered a precise and high-performance ESD flooring solution in a challenging space. The client benefited from minimal disruption and the assurance of a professionally installed, compliant system.
