Zenith Improves Facilities at Nationwide Building Society
Zenith Refitment recent work at Nationwide Building Society illustrates how the company is able to work within a sensitive environment, achieving the desired results while minimising interruption, and also meet the requirements of an changing brief.
Nationwide Building Society employed Zenith to work on two different projects, each highlighting the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, health & safety and customer care.
The first project required Zenith to extend Nationwide’s overcrowded car park, currently for 2,500 cars, with an extra 280 spaces. The primary challenge was to maintain usage of the existing car park 24 hours a day while the work was being carried out. This entailed the use of heavy machinery in an occupied space, with limited room for manoeuvre, calling for the highest levels of organisation.
Based on the company’s project management capability within a sensitive environment, Zenith was employed as Principle Contractor, with a dedicated Site Manager to ensure speedy response to any issues. The work required Zenith to remove the existing landscaping, adjust ground levels and relocate storm drains as well as alterations to power, lighting & CCTV. All within a 16 week period.
The second project required Zenith construct an 88-cycle capacity store with associated shower block. This involved working to a limited brief that was subject to change, eventually doubling the contract value.
The job required Zenith to remove existing landscaping, adjust ground levels and install new drainage, water and power supplies before building a foundation and constructing a steel frame with polycarbonate roof and glazed walls to house the cycle store. It also involved overhauling the existing shower block, installing new showers, cubicles, toilet facilities, wall panels and dryers, as well as an air source heat pump, underfloor heating and resin flooring throughout. Finally, the team carried out landscaping to accommodate new footpaths and cycle ways, completing the project in 24 weeks.
Both projects highlight the ability of Zenith to provide a seamless refitment service, working to the on-going requirements of the brief, one in a sensitive environment and the other subject to change, to the satisfaction of the client, who was delighted with the results in each case.
