Zenith enters Project of the Year into 2014 FeRFA Awards

This year, Zenith Pola Flooring is entering into the 2014 FeFRA Awards, ‘Project of the Year’ category. The entry is for the ‘Large Project of the Year’ for projects over 250m2.

Each year, The Resin Flooring Association (FeFRA) organises an AGM and Awards Dinner, presenting awards to those projects demonstrating innovation, quality and best practice in five separate categories.

The event will take place at the De Vere Staverton Park Hotel in Staverton on Friday 28th November 2014 and will be hosted by TV personality, Mark Durden-Smith. The black tie awards dinner will follow a daytime networking lunch and afternoon of AGM presentations and elections.

Zenith Pola Flooring has chosen to enter this prestigious project into the Project of the Year category, sponsored by Huntsman Polyurethanes UK Ltd, selecting the Large Property of the Year over 250m2 section of the award.

The entry is for two major High Street retailers Primark & Next, opening shops at Grosvenor Shopping Centre in Northampton. Following a rip-out of the former House of Fraser site and prior to shop fit-out, the project called on Zenith Pola Flooring to provide a seamless flooring system for both shops, covering an area of 5,437m2. This saw Zenith having to overcome a whole raft of problems, including water ingress, a weak substrate, differences in floor level and channels in the floor, within a tight timeframe.

To plane the area down to sound concrete or screed would have been economically unviable and too time-consuming, and the project required a specialist flooring solution. With many years’ experience overcoming inherent flooring issues, Zenith were able to draw on their expertise and know-how to implement an alternative, failsafe solution. This utilised a fibre-glass mesh, after various preparatory stages, producing a floor of exceptional strength to the required precision tolerance within each retail outlet.

Zenith Pola Flooring look forward to attending the annual FeRFA award ceremony on 28th November, which provides an opportunity to meet other industry professionals as well as showcasing Zenith’s flooring capabilities.
