Project Description
Impact resistant flooring for Jockeys’ Rest Area at Worcester Racecourse.
Set in a stunning location in the heart of Worcester city centre, by the River Severn, Worcester Racecourse is one of the country’s premier thoroughbred horse racing venues, known locally as ‘Pitchcroft’.
Zenith was asked to prepare a flooring area in the Jockeys’ Rest Area, to be completed within one week in February 2024, involving minimal disruption to the racecourse’s busy racing schedule.
The job called for the installation of a low maintenance floor with a high abrasion and impact resistance, given its ongoing and regular usage, and was somewhat unusual in that it needed to be applied to an existing 18mm marine plywood floor, installed by others.
The team applied a hand trowelled HF 6mm polyurethane, followed by two coats of a polyurethane UVR resistant coating in dark grey, with 100mm high coved skirting to the perimeter.
In keeping with Zenith’s reputation for professionalism and efficiency, the work was completed within the allotted time span and to the full satisfaction of the client.
As specialists in meeting the varying requirements of resin and industrial flooring contracts, Zenith is happy to work with clients to their specific requirements, ensuring a seamless solution that utilises advanced materials and installation methods, providing high quality flooring that is strong, durable and fit for purpose. From a complete flooring installation to a simple coating, we have the expertise and know-how to work with existing conditions, ensuring a finish that meets the customer’s ideal aesthetic.
