Client Requirements

KI Hydrogen, an early-stage startup pioneering a novel method of producing hydrogen from biomass waste, required a dedicated research space to develop and scale up their production process. The facility needed essential services installed to accommodate specialist equipment while maintaining a safe and functional working environment.

Solution Provided

Zenith’s refurbishment department delivered a tailored solution to ensure the research engineers had a fully equipped and compliant workspace. The project involved:

Upgraded Electrical Supply – Dedicated power installation to support specialist hydrogen production equipment.


Ventilation & Extraction – Installation of an extraction system to safely remove fumes from the research process.
Plumbing & Sinks – Essential water supply and drainage systems for laboratory operations.


Protective Materials – Application of durable, resistant materials to safeguard the surrounding environment.


Emergency Safety Shower – Installed to meet health and safety regulations in case of accidental exposure.

Project Challenges & Collaboration

Given the high technical specification of the services and materials used, Zenith worked closely with KI Hydrogen and other third-party contractors to ensure seamless integration of the research facility’s critical infrastructure. Coordination was key, particularly with hydrogen production and gas safety specialists, to meet all regulatory and operational requirements.
